Cue the music! I'm leaving on a jet plane...

Here's to a Spooktastic Halloween!

Before I jet off to Ireland like some kind of Author Rockstar Living Her Best Life (ahem), I wanted to share a few items:

  2. 2) A super nifty honor
    3) A chance to w!n one of my books in November
    4) Reminder: Facebook reader-author event December 1-2
    5) Snippet from
The One That I See, available for preorder in the Craving My Roommate anthology

Reviews for The One That I Want

Last week The One That I Want went on sale and I couldn't have had a more rewarding release week. So many friends reached out to cheer me on. Pretty sure my heart exploded on the hour, every hour.

As a new author trying to carve out a readership in a crowded field of Great Reading Opportunities, I want to thank all of you who've taken a chance and picked up a copy of The One That I Want. I hope my book baby delivers on your reading expectations -- and it just might, if these two early 5 star reviews on Amazon are any indication:

"I loved J. Keely Thrall's The One That I Want. This is one sexy book!" -- Monaco

"The dialog and pacing are perfect, and the author has a real knack for sexy banter." -- Loves All Books

Here's where I issue the call to action on bended knee: If you've read The One That I Want, please let the world know by writing a review--it doesn't have to be long, but it definitely should be honest!--either on the platform you purchased it from, or on BookBub or Goodreads. Your review will help others find The One That I Want and Camuel (because who couldn't use a dose of emotional support stuffed camel?). THANK YOU!

A Super Nifty Honor

During release week, Therese Walsh, author and cofounder of Writer Unboxed, invited me to write a post sharing my journey to publication. To say it was an honor to do a guest blog for this august website dedicated to the craft and business of fiction is putting it mildly! Here's a bit of the post:

My road to publication has been a long time coming, a winding path I could have stayed on indefinitely if not for one real life plot twist: I learned how to set myself up for success. That mind shift took me from “aspiring” writer to “I’ve got the power. Let’s do this thing.”

Snippet from The One That I See

I’m about a quarter of the way through The One That I See, my contribution to the Craving My Roommate anthology that comes out in July 2024. Here's an (unedited!) snippet to wet your appetite for this short story starring David and Celia (Connor's oldest brother and SIL).

“I’m starving.”
“What a coincidence.” The heated gleam in his gaze promises wicked, lovely things. “I’m starving, too.”
His kiss makes me forget the drive, my hunger pains, my own name. Thorough, slow. Wet, deliberate. Masterful. By the time he lifts his head, my knees have given out. I’m panting, needy, and rethinking my options.
“Hey, my headache is gone.”
“Good.” His shoulders relax and a smile tugs free to grace his sculpted lips.
“Are you okay?” I brush the hair from his forehead, trace the tilted up edge of his mouth. I should have asked sooner. Should have realized how stressed he’d be until I returned to him safe and sound.
“Definitely okay and planning on getting even better in the very near future.” He guides me up the entry steps with his hand low on my back. “You sure I can’t make you a plate while you sneak off to the bedroom?”
“And miss the world premiere of the Celiatini? The Celiapolitan?” I scrunch my nose and try again. “The Celiarita?"
“Keep working.”

Need to learn the name they land on for the drink created in Celia's honor? Preorder Craving My Roommate today (it's a steal at ninety-nine round copper coins) and the answer will drop right into your e-reader next summer.

Ciao for now,
